Hello there,

my name is Filip and I live in a relatively small town in the north western part of Belgium in a nice house in the countryside. I have a girlfriend who lives in the next town, and my 9 cats, 1 rabbit, 10 chickens and a dwarf parrot (very small, ànd very loud) keep me company when we're not together. My hobbies are reading, playing guitar, hiking, biking, collecting stamps and postcards, and gardening (vegetables and trees). I've studied at Ghent University and last year I returned to work there in the field of marine bioeconomy. For my work I often have to travel abroad and I really enjoy meeting new people and learn more about them, so I thought that joining up for postcrossing seemed like a really nice way to get to know more people from all over the world, how briefly it might even be. I really like the idea of receiving a postcard from any random place in the world and learn more about you!

I'm not picky about the postcard and I am sure I will appreciate any card you send, but if you need some guidance, here are some likes:
- cats
- nature (animals, insects, birds, trees, flowers, landscapes... preferably from the area you live in)
- funny cards (funny quotes, cartoons, people, animals...)
- vintage/retro (any card from the previous century)
- music (instruments, or pictures of rock bands)

But as I said, don't worry if you don't have any of these, I find that most often the cards that surprise you are the best!

If you could use a nice stamp from your country that would really make me and my girlfriend very happy :-)

And most important, please tell me a little bit about yourself, that's the main idea of course! What makes you get out of bed in the morning? What are your hobbies and passions? Did anything extraordinary happen to you recently? Or just a random thought that popped into your head? I would love to read it!
