Let me introduce myself, my name is Natalya.
I live in Russia – the country of contradiction and contrasts. I live in a small northern city Khanty-Mansiysk. It is situated in the Western Siberia on Irtysh River. About 400 years ago Khanty-Mansiysk was a small village Samarovo on the seven hills. Now it is a modern and highly developed city, the centre of Ugra land and the capital of Khanty-Mansiysk autonomous okrug. Ugra land is full of legends and myths of aboriginal Khanty and Mansi people, who are not numerous now. Nowadays Khanty-Mansiysk is the city with well-developed infrastructure, numerous cultural objects, museums and parks. Culture and sport are very popular in our city. A lot of guests all over the world have visited Khanty-Mansiysk repeatedly during World Cup of Biathlon competitions. Every year International debut film festival «Spirit of Fire» takes place in Khanty-Mansiysk.
I love my city very much for its compactness and nature around and inside the city. The beauty of nature deeply amazes me, especially in winter. I love the beginning of winter, first snowing, which usually falls at night. I like snowfalls, when big snowflakes lay on hats and collar of passersby. They shiver with cold and look like sparrows. I like to raise my face, close the eyes and imagine that every snowflake, falling down on the face and melting from the skin warmth, is a kiss of small snowman. I love the New Year’s Day, the smell of fir-tree and tangerines. I believe in miracle that can happen in this unusual night.
I like hedgehogs and collect different figures of them. Hedgehog in a fog of the same name Russian cartoon is a small philosopher, which has gone deep into my soul.
I like films and theatre plays with difficult plot and bright palette of emotions.
My favorite book is «The Little Prince» by Antoine de Saint-Exupery.
I collected postcards when I was a child, but became the adult I had other interests and have neglected the collection. When I found out about postcrossing, I immediately decided to become the member of this wonderful project and revive my old hobby, transforming and widen it a little bit.
I will be very happy to receive any card, chosen for me. I only want to say, that I don’t want to receive postcards with images of flowers, food and picture reproductions.
