About Elinor...

Hello! I love receiving fun post. It's easy to feel lonely even in a city so hearing from friendly people all over the world is wonderful :)

I'm a railway engineer, but in my spare time I enjoy creating things and I'm figuring out how to make my own clothes and learning to quilt. I love travelling and have a long list of places I'd love to visit, some places just down the road and others that might always remain distant dreams. I like reading, mainly fantasy and stories with happy endings. And sometimes I just like to be lazy and relax with TV and chocolate!

*** I'd love to receive cards with the number 4 (my new house number!) ***

Please send me something beautiful, artistic, inspiring or cheerful :)

A few things I particularly like...
typography/ inspiring quotes on cards,
National costumes/ fabrics & textile,
Tarot card designs,
stars and the night sky - especially long exposures,
aerial views,
sewing and sewing machines,
Jane Austen,
old or vintage cards (I'd prefer really old cards unwritten in an envelope if possible, it just seems a bit wrong to write on them!),
Studio Ghibli (especially 'Totoro'),
Kaikai kiki/ Takashi Murakami,
Buddhas, temples/ shrines, Madonna/ Virgin Mary, religious places or icons,
shaped cards,
seasonal cards from any religion or region,
folded cards,
handmade cards,
art cards, gallery and museum cards,
beautiful views, mountains, landscapes, and panoramic images,

*** my "favourites" cards are postcards I'd love to receive :) ***

I prefer my cards written and stamped (naked/ no envelope)

If you like to decorate cards with washi tape, stickers, art or anything else - please go for it :)

I like nice stamps but I'm not a collector. I know sometimes the plain ones are easier :)

I'd prefer to not receive:
ad/free cards (unless they're beautiful or artistic, or match my likes :) ),
multi-view cards,
cards with animals,
cards with food (I have issues with some foods, thank you for understanding),

Maybe you could write a favourite quote, something about yourself or where you live, something nice you did or saw recently, local proverbs, something in your own language, or just a friendly message.
