About Brigitte...

My name is Brigitte . I speak French and Dutch, two of the languages of Belgium. In the East, the language is German but I only can understand it when spoken. At school I've only learned very little of it. Perhaps it's a shame because German is an official language in Belgium too.
I have learned English (at school) and Italian (because I love the country). I have two sons. One of them lives in France (Bretagne)
I was always fond of receiving real mails. And now it doesn't occure very often. So I found the idea of Postcrossing great. I don't work anymore and spend much time at home. My village, Dilbeek, is near Brussels, but I don't go often to the city. l like books, specially history books. I am interested in the old and middle ages. I write very much, a diary but also haikus and comments over my travels, with pictures...
I like cooking, every time new recipes from all places in the world.
I have a garden and love flowers, birds and the sun when it shines because Belgium is a rainy country, often grey. I also have two cats.
When I travel I will prefer the sea. I can spend hours just looking at the waves and dreaming. I like sending postcards from the places I visit. I am always curious to discover new things or habits from foreign countries. Legends and gastronomy but also the language and the history and the customs through the years.
Since May 25 2018 I'm the happy grandma of baby Agnès.
HURRAY I have a second grand daughter Emilie, born on 18 November 2020.

PS It is sometimes difficult to find postcards where I live. And I don't want to buy on line, things everybody can have. So I look for postcards everywhere, even old ones and send them with pleasure to the world.

Please write your Postcrossing username on the card, so I can read your profile before I write you a thank-you note.
