About Esther...

Hello.

My name is Esther. I am the third of four 'first generation Australian' children born to Dutch immigrants in South Australia where our family group settled. I finished high school, studied Law and accounting at Adelaide University but never finished due to family concerns. Instead I helped run the family business making sheepskin Ugg boots and car seat covers.

I like travel and it is a big part of life here. Getting your car licence is really important and as teenagers, 'going for a drive' could mean a casual round trip of 500kms or so in one day. I have visited opal mines in Coober Pedy, (South Australia) and climbed Ayers Rock now known as Uluru. (Northern Territory) I have played in the Victorian Alps (Victoria), visited the Snowy Mountains and driven over the Blue Mountains and the Sydney Harbour Bridge New South Wales).

I am the mother of 3 incredible children, aged 8, 20 and 21 years of age and they keep me busy and grounded all at the same time. We live in the Tropical City of Townsville which is located on the North East Coast of Australia in the State of Queensland, close to the Great Barrier Reef and tropical islands which attract international tourists, Townsville also boast's both Army and Air force bases, an international airport, the Australian Institute of Marine Science and the world class James Cook University.

I look forwards to postcards from any country. I love European history and architecture and of course anything from Holland is just special. I like views of your home town or special places in your country but mostly I enjoy reading what you have to say about it. Postcards from across the world are really great but it is the person writing the card that makes it fantastic. I am happy to receive cards in envelopes if that suits you as I keep the stamps for other 'stamp collecting postcrossers' that I come into contact with. I look forwards to receiving your card.

Thanks and have a great day.

Esther
