About Dobrawka...

Hello, my new friend :)

My name is Iga and I am from little town near Toruń, which is fantastic, historic city in central Poland. Although I moved out to a larger city to study what interests me, I still often visit my family house, because big cities are far from nature, so too far from everything that is dear to me because of my simply-slavic roots.

I am really interested in history, culture, folklore, traditions and languages; mainly slavic and north germanic (scandinavian), but I think that every culture is interesting and special. Norwegian is connected with my work, and I want to be an interpreter in the future. My great dream is to learn Old-Church-Slavonic language someday, but there is a long way to go - Old Polish has to be enough for me right now. I am also interested in culture, history of my country and talking about it gives me great joy. By the way, I willingly tell about my own language, which is considered very difficult and complicated, so if you are also interested in languages (and like big challenges of course!) - just let me know. I would be very happy to teach you something in Polish :)

I will be very happy if you write something about you and your country on the postcard - all countries are fascinating and interesting, and I will enjoy with everything you will write to me. Do you have interesting tradition in your country that I possibly do not know about? Do you know funny fact about history? Do you know curious recipe of national dish or just want to share information about yourself? Tell me about it, please :) I especially like cards with cities, architecture and nature - generally speaking, everything national is close to my heart, but you can always surprise me of course! If you like to send your card in envelope, please add something little like dry flower or coin of small value (like one penny), but if you want to make my day and have time to find that, send me something with the flag of your country. And I have a request for you - please, do not send me anything that you would not want to receive too.

At the end I would like to ask you to write a few words in your language with translation to English. It will be pleasure for me.

Happy postcrossing!
