Hello Postcrossers all over this great big wonderful world!
I'm retired, and I love it! It's the best thing I ever got paid to do!
➳knitting; I like to knit hats and scarves for the homeless.
➳needlepoint─which I do while watching t.v. in the evening because it keeps me from eating dark chocolate, which I love!
➳sewing─I've started again after a very long hiatus
➳reading─non-fiction, historical fiction, history, fiction─I belong to four book clubs
➳coloring using artist grade colored pencils
➳puttering around the house or in the yard
➳traveling─visiting new places and re-visiting places I've already been
We have a 17-year-old spoiled rotten cat that we love very much. New word: a lover of cats is an ailurophile. We live in the country where, unfortunately, people leave their cats so we also have feral cats who live under our shed and sleep in the sun on our porch (yes, I've named them all). I am not a "crazy cat lady" though with the whole house decorated in cat decorations who sits in her rocking chair and knits clothes for the cats (although I've thought about it!)
Learning about different people and cultures is fascinating. Writing space on a postcard is limited so if you are at a loss for what to write, tell me:
►your life story in six words (Mine is: Retired, I do what I want!)
►What you wanted to be when you grew up when you were 7 years old
►What makes you laugh the most
►What do you like to do in your spare time?
►The kindest thing you ever did for a stranger
►Something that cheers you up without fail
►Your favorite quote
►What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
►Where do you plan on going for your next vacation?
►What you do to make the world a better place
►If you could meet anyone in history, who would it be?
or tell me about your city or country:
►A little-known fact about your city or country
►Your favorite place in your city that you take someone who's visiting for the first time
It makes my husband and me happy to receive postcards from people all over the world and we thank each and every one of you who takes the time to send us a postcard.
We're happy with
☼ touristy or non-touristy store-bought postcard
☼well-made handmade postcard--we've gotten some beautiful watercolor postcards that I've framed.
☼USA state map postcard or your country's map postcard
Your country has some beautiful stamps and we like receiving real postage stamps instead of metered mail. I'll put a variety of USA stamps on the postcard I send you if you ask for them in your profile.
If you include your username I can read your profile before registering your postcard and sending you a thank you
