I was born in Soviet-occupied Estonia and became a refugee after the fall of the Berlin Wall. In the USA, I have lived in New York, New Jersey, Colorado, Maryland and Delaware. I have spent a month each in Chile, Ghana and Russia. After a crazy three years, I have finally landed in Prince Edward Island, Canada. I spent the pandemic working as a COVID tester and vaccination site assistant. I am now happily back to working in a public library. My favorite jobs I've ever had include working at an archive while studying at university and spending 6 months with Americorps, building trails, doing park maintenance, leading educational hikes for the public and making maple syrup. I love to explore and go hiking with my husband and 10 pound chihuahua. I enjoy reading, learning new things, improving Wikipedia articles, taking photos of tombstones for FindAGrave.com and eating a good Shepards Pie in a cozy pub. My dream is to see the Northern Lights and to one day stand on Estonian soil again.

What are you passionate about? Have you ever had a close encounter with a wild animal or with the paranormal? What is the most amazing natural phenomenon you have witnessed? Do you have a favorite word or phrase in your language?

Some of my favorite things are:
ravens, owls, spiders, octopuses, jellyfish, mushrooms, animal skulls, the green man, wild women, mythology, paganism, witchcraft, libraries, sacred places, storms, lightning, the aurora borealis, trickster gods, ancient ruins, raging rivers, women healers, little old ladies dressed as witches, tarot, palmistry, Spiritism, séances, the moon, star constellations, outer space and bonfires.

I like memento mori images, plague doctor images, Halloween (vintage or macabre, not cutesy), graveyards and anything to do with death, the underworld or with the afterlife.

I also like postcards of local/native religious practices or national costumes (including folk/native symbols, patterns, etc).

Anything and everything that has to do with the culture, history or folklore of Estonia and Ukraine in particular, but any Slavic or Nordic country in general.

Lighthouses! Unique modern buildings of strange shape or design. Flags and crests. Science, exploration, infographics, spaceships, icebreakers, Coast Guard, modern ships, search & rescue generally.

Philately & postal themed images. Maxicards are always a favorite. Beautiful, strange and unique stamps are appreciated.
