Hello - Hafa Adai - Konnichiwa!
My name is Jhan. I'm very new to Postcrossing.
I grew up on a small island, and at the moment I live in a small town in Japan with my pet betta fish named Captain Red.
When the weather is nice I enjoy going on long bike rides into the main city. I also like reading a lot, I'm mainly into fantasy and sci-fi books. It is very difficult to find any English books where I live; I actually travel into the next prefecture to shop for them, hee hee. The most recent book I've finished reading is called Uprooted by Naomi Novik (totally fantastic). And yes, I'm also a Harry Potter fan. House Hufflepuff!
I also really love Studio Ghibli movies. Although I haven't seen all the movies, I have seen most. My absolute favorite is Spirited Away. Another favorite is Kiki's Delivery Service. I have regularly dressed up as Kiki during Halloween (I even made the costume myself).
My favorite thing to casually learn about is food! I don't think many people realize that some of the common things they eat every day or some of the things that they aways see in the markets are actually really foreign to other people. I find that really fascinating.

I also love drawings and doodles. If you're at a loss for what to write, then just send a little drawing; a quick self portrait, your beloved pet, your most recent meal, anything is fine :)

I think getting any mail at all is delightful enough, yet I highly enjoy:
-food (of course, haha)
-nature, the more colorful or vibrant the better
-Disney, Pixar, Studio Ghibli
-fairy tales/folk tales
-themeparks
-interesting architecture
-animals, especially pandas and bears
-miscellaneous cute things
-interesting ordinary things
-surprises
