These could be the first sentences a foreigner would hear when being in Germany or even learning the language.

My name is Katja and I live with my teenage son in Mainz. Besides being a single mom, I studied American culture studies and the history of art at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. I had worked for almost 15 years at an institute for media analysis but wasn't very happy. I chose to break out into a new direction and follow a more creative path as I love reading, writing, and editing all visual media content. I learned the hard way that it is never too late to follow your dreams and most importantly your heart.

I just finished professional training in Content Management where I learned to build websites and how to do the right marketing on social media. However, I'm still looking for the right job that'll fulfill me and that's worth putting all your energy in. In the meantime, I started to work in a social field where I am helping people who are old, sick, or just not fit enough to run a household by themselves. After 3 years of Corona and social distancing, I needed to do something totally different and where I could get out of my bubble by helping other people who have hard times. I enjoy this work very much as it grounds me and puts things in the right perspective.
Besides, I'm working as an honorary counselor for children and teenagers at the local child protection center. I do love this job very much 😍

I like doing art myself, yoga, taking a sauna, listening and dancing to all kinds of music....from dance to rock to pop to soul to classical and folk. I love the spirit and music of the 60s and 70s...especially Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath but also later eras. I like the glamour of the 20s and I call myself a cineaste as I love going to the movies. FYI, I'd always prefer some classic action to a romantic movie 🍿🎥 🎢😉

I do prefer art postcards, especially of works by my favorite painters Gustav Klimt and Caravaggio. Moreover, I welcome historical and music/movie-related postcards that remind me of past times. I also love everything about astronomy, the universe, galaxies, planets, etc. but also astrology, especially Libra-themed cards as I was born in October:) Since I'm doing yoga, I'm also interested in Hinduism and Buddhism and call myself a practitioner of Stoicism.

What I don't like: multi-view or traditional tourist postcards. I'm more interested in what you have to say about your town/country and welcome extraordinary, well-thought-out cards. Surprise me🥳
