I grew up in Minnesota, but moved to New Orleans after college, where I started my teaching career. I was part of the integration of the public schools and loved being a part of that movement. But it was very difficult so after I started my family, I returned to Minnesota and taught for another 25 years. I miss teaching, and New Orleans but am occupied by 9 grandchildren.

My love of travel started in college, when I spent a summer hitchhiking through France, Italy, Germany, and Switzerland. Later I developed a love of driving tours and have traveled across the US, many times , from Florida to California, New York to Oregon and much of middle America, too. With teacher exchange programs, I've traveled to Denmark, China, France, and Germany. When I retired I treated myself to a solo trip to Machu Pichu , This past summer we finally made it to sailing a catamaran in the British Virgin Islands. There were 4 couples on the boat, and 4 boats. It was fantastic! We also made it back to Hawaii, Gulf Shores, New Orleans and Mexico. Travelling is wonderful. I finally made it t Egypt in November 2023! It was everything I had hope for.

I hope to see the rest of the world through postcards. I enjoy getting all kinds. But I'd really like to get a Postcrossing Meetup card from everywhere. If you can send one, I'd really appreciate it.

Besides traveling, my interests include reading (during Covid I read all of the Agatha Christie series plus 2 autobiographies and 1 biography of her; it made me want to go to Egypt more than ever!), bike riding, collecting German and French dolls from the 1800s, history, and Art (especially Impressionism and Georgia O'Keefe and Chihuly glass).
