About Carmen...

Dear postcrosser,

I am Carmen (39), originally from the Netherlands and recently moved to Belgium. Every day I'm enjoying the numerous little or great things that happen in life. That can be a blue sky, a good conversation with a friend or someone on the bus or being together with my family and friends. I believe life is all about happiness and kindness and those two are things you share with other people.

Snail mail is great and I use almost everything as an excuse to send friends and family a card or a letter once in a while. So far, no one complained yet, so I guess they are fine with it.

Reading books is one of my hobbies. James Patterson, Harlan Coben, Paulo Coelho, Sophie Kinsella, Tess Gerritsen, Nicci French, J.K. Rowling are some names of writers which I like. Start to read a book when I'm suppose to do something else, is a bad idea because I'm having trouble to put my book down again.

Hiking is something else which I like, but only on nice trails, with lots of trees, stepstones in small rivers or narrow paths where you can't see what's ahead of you.

I love music. Some of my favourites are Noa/Achinoam Nini, an Israeli singer with an amazing voice, Gotye and occasionally jazz. I did a music swap with an American postcrosser who introduced the band Paper Bird to me which I really like. Depending on the mood I'm in, I listen to different kinds of music. I love soft jazz on my sunday morning while enjoying a cup of coffee and a slow wake up.

When it comes to postcards, finally, I don't like touristic postcards or cards with animals on it, except for drawn ones. Recently I discovered some cards by Charley Harper at a vintage market. I think these cards are the most beautiful in the world. (well, to me they are.) So if you have one, (and willing to send it to me ofcourse) you can be sure you make my day!

Write me whatever you feel like writing about, but please a bit more than just "hello".

If you made it to read this far, thank you very much for your effort to know more about the person behind my picture.

A day with a postcard in my mailbox is an extra benefit on a allready sunny day!

Carmen
