My son Chris, 25, is my favorite person in this life! I’m recently engaged, after being widowed before this for five plus years, and I’ve learned to never take love (or life!) for granted.

I’ve traveled all over the United States (and British Columbia) in leadership roles responding to disasters (my career is in disaster management) such as wildfires, floods, tornadoes, hurricanes and more in states such as California, Texas, Georgia, Louisiana, New York, others, and at home. Hurricane Katrina, the California Wildfires, Hurricane Sandy and the Boston Marathon Bombing are some disasters I’ve served on to help make a difference.

I currently work as a professor of policy by day and, by night, I focus on my own little business (primarily creative writing, life coaching, disaster planning and photography).

Hobbies include reading, creative writing, photography, walking, bike riding, roller skating, snowshoeing, singing and playing the lyre harp.

I love adventures! From day trips to weekends away and week-long getaways. This is partly why I looked for a site like this...to share postcards with people who love adventures, traveling and being creative like me.
