I am 37 years old and work as an ecologist and I have finally managed to buy my own house! While I am not in the rural areas with a driveway mailbox like when I was young I am happy to have a walking post-person (for now?) and postcards make me look forward to opening the mailbox on the house. I have many hobbies, some of them include gardening, reading, crafts, observing butterflies and dragonflies and photography.
Written postcards with a stamp are welcome!
I am a stamp collector and would love to receive any and all stamps, but don't worry all stamps received on cards STAY ON the cards, they are much more valuable to me on a card chosen and written to me!(added after seeing something in the forums)
Some preferences: The current Europa Castles are great. I like to collect any non-typical (definitives are fine as long as it is nice and maybe not the most common one) stamps, specifically illustrated ones to do with nature, flowers, plants, wildlife, parks or landscapes. I especially love butterflies, dragonflies, cats (both wild and domestic, cougars/mountain lions are my favorite cats), botanicals (flower art), whales and sea life, castles, horses. But any stamp that's from a new country for me or not the 'regular' standard will be nice.
Some stamps I would love to receive can be seen in my favorites (or any similar to these, or in the same series as one displayed here): https://www.flickr.com/photos/52344363@N03/favorites
Some postcard preferences include ones showing your regions landscape, illustration of butterflies, dragonflies, nature, flower art, wildlife, whales, waterfalls, native peoples and their costume, rural architecture, midevil castles, old stone churches (and other old stone buildings), historic tall ships, anything moss covered, watercolour or oriental ink art cards.
Because it it becoming so difficult to find postcards and because of the jack in the price of both postcard themselves and postage prices I have incorporated using prepaid cards when sending. I really prefer sending stamped but if a profile does not specify I may use prepaid. And there are some very nice designs in Canada Post prepaid that can't be acquired through 'regular' cards.
Thanks to those who have sent me nice cards and beautiful stamps.
