About Bodo...

Hello dear postcrossers.

My name is Bodo and I have started to collect postcards and stamps listening about postcrossing in the radio.

If you need ideas of what postcards I like...
- Beautiful city views
- Cathedrals
- Castles
- Rivers and Lakes
- Mountains
- Classical music themes

I am also a stamp collector. I like pretty and unique stamps and would enjoy receiving a special stamp from your country.

I'm living in the southwestern corner of Germany nearby the Black Forest Mountains (Schwarzwald) and the river Rhine (Rhein) and near to the French border.

Karlsruhe, founded 1715, my hometown, is one of the younger cities in Germany, round abaut 300 thousand inhabitants.
The story starts when Karl, the former prince of this part of Germany, went on horseback through forests and flats. He became terribly tired and after a long dormancy under a big tree in this forest he decided: At this place I will build my new castle. Well, so Karlsruhe (Charles Dormancy) was build.

But there was born also another Karl in Karlsruhe. And in almost every part in the whole world everybody knows or use his invention. This is Karl Drais, 1785-1851, the inventor of the bicycle. In 2017 we had the 200st anniversary of the bicycle.

And also the Black Forest (Schwarzwald) is nearby Karlsruhe.
Here you can get the original "Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte" Black Forest Cherry Cake and the original "Schwarzwälder Kuckucksuhr" Black Forest Cuckoo Clock.

So I like hiking and mountain biking, especially with E-Mountain-Bikes and apart from reading a good book, I enjoy gardening, good food and to videotape.

Any card in my mailbox will be received with a smile :-). And please send no envelope. I prefere original postcards with original stamps.

Thanks for taking the time to read my profile. I will be excited to find your postcard in my mailbox.

So, with all good wishes, Peace and Happiness to you.

Bodo August Dionys

P.S.: Both middle names are the first names of my two grandfathers. In my youth I thought Bodo August Dionys, what a terrible combination! But later I knew these are my grandfathers first names. And today I am proud to have this good remembrance to them. I like it so if other people have also additional first names, middle names. If you also are an owner of middle names and if you want I would be honored if you tell them to me. Thank you.
