About Tanja...

Hi,

my name is Tanja and I am originally from Germany but have just moved to Winnipeg in Canada. I'm looking forward to show my new home country to Postcrossers all around the world and of course to also receive a million cards from my old home. In Germany, I grew up in Bochum in the Ruhr region and have lived in Kaiserslautern in the Palatinate for the last 10 years. Curious, when I'll get my first card from there! ^^

I already have a big postcard collection (also from before Postcrossing) so it would be extremely nice if you could check my external album before you pick a card to avoid duplicates: www.bit.ly/2fk1YYE
I love photography and have studied design. I often make my own cards and let them print professionally.
Ich spreche Deutsch. Je parle français. Parlo italiano. Please use your mother tongue if I speak it too.

What would I love to receive?
I hope this doesn't sound demanding, I just want to give you an idea on what I like the most and what not so much. You can make me happy with a lot of different things. Don't feel sorry for any card!

I like postcards that show something from your country, your town, the culture of your country, the people, recipes ...
Also if you tell me something about it, I will love it! I'm interested in the world, that's what got me hooked on Postcrossing.

It doesn't matter if it's a photo of landscape or buildings or places or touristy cards or if it's made by yourself or brought.

On the other hand, I do not like cards with generic graphics or unrelated animals or pictures that could be from anywhere. You can decide best if it tells me something about where it's coming from or not.

I do not like folded cards (greeting cards) at all. Sorry, I know they're meant well but I don't know what to do with them.
I always end up with a heap of Christmas cards from family and friends after the holidays (or birthday cards) and can't bring myself to throw them away. So they land in a box and get dusty.

I'm very excited about the new Travel Mode because I prefer for the card ID, card motive and actual sending location to match. So please activate this in your Account settings if you're sending from your travels.

I would love cards from my favourites! I browse the Postcrossing Gallery a lot and found so many cards I love.
Caution, I also favour cards I already own. And a long time a ago I had a second account that is now deactivated, so you can't always tell. Please have a quick browse though my complete album to avoid duplicates: www.bit.ly/2fk1YYE

I collect stamps, so if it doesn't cost you more I would appreciate getting cards in envelopes. If you want, you can also add some used stamps. But I'm not disappointed if you don't have the possibility, don't worry.

I'm not doing many swaps right now because postage in Canada is too expensive. But you can message me anyway, sometimes I'll answer. Sorry if I don't.

Thank you for reading through all of this. I'm really looking forward to your card
