I like genealogy, reading, knitting, historical costuming, miniatures (dollhouses) -- lots of things. I was a library cataloger for many years, but now am a stay-at-home mother, though my daughters are somehow both in high school already.

Some favorite fiction authors (in alphabetical order because I'm still a librarian at heart) -- Jane Austen, Alexander McCall Smith, Patrick O'Brian, Ellis Peters, Miss Read, D.E. Stevenson, Josephine Tey, J.R.R. Tolkien, Joanna Trollope, Laura Ingalls Wilder, P.G. Wodehouse ....

I have lived in southern California all of my life, but I have traveled to England (many times), Australia, Scandinavia, and eastern Europe. My heritage is mostly German and Bavarian, with a smidge from every country in the British Isles.

I used to collect stamps many years ago -- I don't any more, but I will try to send interesting ones on my postcards! I would be delighted to receive cards with Postcrossing stamps if your country has issued one.
