About Ari...
I am living in a small town near Helsinki, capital of Finland. I worked as a ICT system specialist in one of Finlands biggest companies, but now I'm retired (for health reasons).
My hobbies are movies, books, music, and travelling. Cooking and growing bonsai chillies (http://fatalii.net/bonchi) are important to me, too! Now I have started learning to deal with "real" bonsai trees
I have travelled a lot, and now I'm trying to make at least 2 trips abroad every year, one to Europe and another to "far away". The possibility of snorkeling/underwater photography is a must!
I play guitar, harmonica, tin whistle and keyboards, and now I'm learning to play Tabla (no grand success). My last instrument is banjolele. I fell in love with that instrument in Basseterre (St. Kitts), where I a saw an old man playing it.
EDIT: My latest instrument is now sitar. I had a Guru in Nepal who promised to teach me, but unfortunately he died before my trip :( So I'm trying to learn from books and DVDs)
I also (try to) make music. I had a home recording studio for 20 years, but had to break it up. Now I have computer-based system with lots of software and hardware.
Very big fan of Krtek, Spielberg, Star Trek, van Gulik, Ildo Lobo, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, reggae (70´s King Tubby/Lee Perry) and Asian movies.
Any kind of postcard is welcomed, but I especially like card with picture of your home town/country (particularly non-tourist) or hobby/other interest, but as I said anything goes... Like
- wild animals and plants of your area
- local dishes, musical instruments
- art from your country
- characters from your local cartoons
- graffiti, especially Banksy-ish
- street art
- funny cards (twisted/sick humour)
I appreciate a personal message - not just "Happy Postcrossing"!
