About Ricarda...

Hello everybody from all over the world! :D I'm a scientist/nerd from Germany. Nice to meet you. If you want to know what kind of person I am, imagine this nerdy woman sitting on the couch with her laptop, a nice cup of tea and a stash of chocolate. Maybe I'm doing something math-y. Maybe I'm reading a book (that's likely to be fantasy, science-fiction or advanced math, not that there's much of a difference) or listening to music (anything from medieval, classical and baroque music over rock and metal to ambient electronica - I will listen to really anything). Maybe I'm playing online chess. If I'm not at the computer, I'm probably painting. I love my watercolors! I do mainly botanical illustrations, fantasy art and some illustrations for my own writing project. (I also create self-made postcards when I get the impression the recipient will be interested.)

When it comes to cards, I'm very interested in:

- minerals and rocks (<3 my hobby, my profession, the love of my life - I started to collect shiny rocks when I was three, and now I'm a mineralogist, WHOOPS)
- mathematics (I guess I'm occasionally cheating on mineralogy with math?!?)
- geology
- computers / information science
- basically anything science (please NOT these "women in science" illustration cards anymore, though: they're nice, but I already have the whole set!!!)
- sundials (<3 I'm obsessed.)
- other old technical devices (instruments for navigational and astronomical purposes, but also others)
- astronomy
- old maps and star charts
- chess (<3 I play tournament chess)
- other games of strategy
- fountain pens
- figure skating and ice dance (my favorite skater is Yuzuru Hanyu but I like everybody. No hate! I'd be happy about a card of your favorite, or famous skaters from your home country.)
- libraries, old books
- music (I can play the piano, the clarinet and the celtic harp)
- manga
- fantasy (mermaids, elves, fairies, dragons, mages, ... - but I'm also fine with occult and "darker" stuff)
- tarot, runes, divination
- fairy-tales, folk tales, mythology
- history re-enactment, medieval fairs and the like (ads are okay)
- art by contemporary local artists
- artistic nudes and/or erotica are good, any gender(s), but please send anything NSFW in an envelope!!!
- something you have a personal connection to, maybe one of your hobbies (tell me about it!)
- any card in my favorites; you can consider those a wishlist
- handmade cards - always the best (<3 <3 <3 I appreciate the work that goes into your own photos, collages or drawings!)

Of course I'll love any card you want to send me! :) Thank you! I appreciate pretty stamps. If you're sending in an envelope, I also appreciate a tea bag - but only if that's no extra trouble. The most important thing is the message, anyway! Tell me something about you, your life, and what you're interested in! :)
