About AnthonyTiger...

I am Anthony and live in Herefordshire, England. I have lived here with my wife since the early 90's. We have two children, our daughter worked as a White Lion Keeper at a regional Safari Park, until recently. She is now working at an animal college, working with much smaller animals and students. Our son is now in his third year university and is enjoying life, doing his own shopping, cooking and washing.

I am a Primary School Governor, a role I have enjoyed for many years, and am now a minibus driver, driving children to and from the same school. I have many links with our local Church, which has a historical link with our primary school. I am an External Exam Invigilator at a local college, again a role I enjoy. I am a manager at a local community centre, a role that allows me to meet lots of different people, arriving for meetings, fitness classes or youth groups.

My hobbies include hill walking, meeting people, animals and conservation, trains and reading books that improve the mind and health. For the past year, I have been practising Mindfulness and have found it is improving my quality of life quite significantly, following many years of trauma. In October, I attended an online Mindfulness Summit, given by some of the worlds experienced teachers. There were around 250,000 attendees, worldwide, an amazing achievement.

In August this year, I spent a day as a Rhino Keeper, working with Indian Rhinos, at a local Safari Park. It was an amazing experience and one I won't forget for a long time. I got to hand feed them and give them some training, as well as husbandry duties. They are such magnificent animals, very different in temperament to their African counterparts. It was interesting to feel just how rough their skin is, something I hadn't really appreciated. Afterwards, I was given a VIP ride around the park, getting up closer to the animals than the public are allowed, especially the baby African Rhino. I was given some memorable photos of my day.

I have family living in Eire, Canada and Australia, and been fortunate to work in Denmark and New Zealand.

I think this is a great idea for broadening our geographical minds to where places are in our world and meeting new friends.

Happy Postcrossing to one and all
