About Ann...

I'm a nature lover and avid gardener. During holidays I like traveling. Mountainous places and dramatic landscapes will always attract me, although I like city-trips and cultural vacations as well.
I work across the border, in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, in a mental healthcare institution. The most cherished part of my work are the Mindful parenting groups for parents of children with ADHD/ASS.
I try to live a healthy, simple, sustainable, mindful and compassionate life...

I have a wishlist, but please don't feel constrained by it!
Well, I love:
- UNESCO World Heritage Sites from your country...
- buddha
- cats: drawings and paintings (no photographs)
- children's books illustrations
- yamato-e, kara-e drawings, ukiyo-e prints (Hokusai)
- all things nature...
- architectural details (gargoyles, windows, doorknobs...)
- pre-raphaelite paintings
- images of artwork and crafts (pictures of patchwork and quilts!)

If you're Russian: I really, really like illustrations of traditional Russian folk tales by Ivan Bilibin (Иван Яковлевич Били́бин). I only have a few of them (http://annetanne.smugmug.com/Postcrossing/Received-cards/Thematical/Ivan-Bilibin), but they are so beautiful!

I would appreciate if you don't send me pictures of the Great Wall of China from Moscou, a view of the Everglades posted in Ouagadougou (although: whatever card from Ouagadougou would be nice, even a polar bear!), or a card with Mount Everest Basecamp sent from New York! Those pictures would be great, but send resp. from Bejing, Florida or Kathmandu!

But when receiving a postcard, it's more the message that matters than the picture on it. I would really, really appreciate that your write something on it. Maybe just tell me what made you smile today!

Or tell me something about... (maybe you have a matching postcard too):
- Your favorite spot in nature, the landscape in your country you really love...
- Wildflowers in your country that are dear to you
- Native animals you love, that you find especially beautiful or ugly, that scare you or that have simply stolen your heart... (I fear that I have to admit that, although I'm fond of cats, I don't like those cute, sugar-sweet kitten-cards...)
- A poem, a book you love (I'd love a translation if not in a language I understand...)

Or did you find a card...
- that symbolizes your ethical, philosophical, spiritual path
- with an image symbolizing something that concerns you, that engages you, a cause important to you
- an object in a nearby historical or ethnological museum that shows something about your country that you're proud of...
- a painting, drawing, work of art you love made by an artist from your country...
- a cartoon that makes you smile
- an image that moves your heart...
- an illustration from your favorite children's book...
Go ahead, they well please me...
