I absolutely love receiving mail. Current online hobbies include supporting crowd funding projects and secret Santa gift exchanges (Givin.Gifts is great among other options!).

As for what I'd like to hear about on postcards: be creative! Choose something that represents you or where you're from or include art or poetry or science or really anything that you're passionate about. Tell me a fact about where you're from or about you or your interests (as I love trivia). I really love unique and interesting cards and geeky ones too, but really choose what you think is best!
