About Ingrid...

Dear Postcrosser,

My name is Ingrid and I live in Austria. Currently I'm studying History at the University of Graz. I'm 32 years old and yes I know that's quite old for being a student. I started studying when I was 27.

I was born in a small village in Upper Austria, called Ternberg. I moved to Graz 4 years ago to study here. My flat is located in the city center. Although it's the second largest city in Austria, it doesn't seem to be really big.

In my spare time I read a lot. The biggest part of my shelf is filled with thriller and biographies of historic people. And I read the Harry Potter Series at least 10 times so far.
As often as possible, I go to the cinema. Films are another passion of mine. There is no genre I really prefer. From action to romance – everything can be attractive for me, except horror. My favourite actor is Alan Rickman.
If I would be able to afford it, I would love to travel around the world. There are so many historical important places or interesting cities all over the world, which would be great not just to hear about, but to explore them. Hopefully that will be possible some day, when I get a job somewhere in a museum or a historical archive.
While watching TV I often need something else to do alongside. So I discovered knitting, sewing and doing other handcrafts as a hobby. My family and friends always love the presents I make – judging from what they say...

My mother tongue is of course German. Beside that I speak English fluently. Because of my extended family in Sweden, I am able to read and understand some Swedish. Speaking and writing is unfortunately still too difficult for me. If you're from Sweden please write in swedish. It will help me to practise.

As mentioned above, I can't travel as much as I would like to, so it would be wonderful to receive postcards from all this faszinating places, I can't visit myself at the moment. Please show me how beautiful your hometown is. If possible, I would prefer postcards from historic sites the most. But of course any postcard will be highly welcome.

If you don't know what to write, you can send me a recipe for your favourite cake, cookie or pie, because I love baking.

Now I'm waiting excitedly for postcards from all over the world.
