Gymnetis stellata is a striking flower beetle with a distinctive pattern of yellow or orange markings. Adults are active on hot, sunny days in deciduous or semi-deciduous forest habitats ranging from southern Mexico to Central South America. They look and sound like bumblebees when in flight. Adults feed on the pollen and nectar of various flowers, fruits and tree sap. |
