Vasco da Gama bridge - Lisbon City - built in 1998 next to the site of Expo'98 (the last world exhibition of the 20th century).
This 17,3km long structure stands over the Tagus river (unfortunately built over a nidification site which is also considered a national bird's sanctuary as odd ad this may seem).
At the time of its inauguration a public lunch was held (serving a national dish called feijoada)on the bridge wich entered the Guiness book of world records for the longest table set for lunch - 5.050m long/15.000 people.
