The Afsluitdijk (Dutch Low Saxon: Ofsluutdiek; English: "Enclosure Dam") is a major dam and causeway in the Netherlands. It was constructed from 1927-1932 and runs 20 mi. from Den Oever in North Holland province to the village of Zurich in Friesland.
