the author of the photo Ando Gilardi, tells:

"...in a factory in Milan the Tallero also this liquidated, closed, mass layoffs, there are many women: many female workers in the Tallero. A curious thing is that when I photographed them the female working class: despite implore them to take a serious pose suitable for depicting union claims, they laughed, smiled, the workers looked pleased and happy, well combed, with a clean apron..."
