Carlos saw these delicate shapes on a low wall in his home town of Calamocha in Aragon, Spain. They are crystal formations in the limestone, but to Carlos they looked like miniature trees or oriental drawings. When a 22-spot ladybird crawled up the wall, the composition was complete.
