Orlik chateau

The castle was built in 1424 on a huge steep rock above the river Vltava (Moldau). Its appearance reminds us of an eagle's nest,
therefore it bears Czech name for an eagle "Orlík". In 1954 a dam was built beneath the castle which raised the river level
60 m and the castle is now only a few metres above the river level.
