The Royal Road (Estrada Real in Portuguese language) is a set of colonial-era roads in Brazil.
It’s purpose was to facilitate the movement of gold, diamonds and other precious minerals from the interior to the coast and thence to Portugal. Nowadays it is a touristic path with many sport and cultural activities.
