About Adrienne...

I joined postcrossing because I miss sending and receiving real mail. I still send Christmas cards every year, and other cards/postcards from time to time, but find that my friends and relations would rather stay in touch by phone or email.

I work as a nurse practitioner. I am a transplant to Oregon and enjoy the rain and year-round greenery here. When I'm not working I can usually be found with a book or knitting needles in my hands. Each summer I learn a little more about gardening. I love to travel but my work schedule prevents me from traveling as much as I'd like. I recently adopted a cat I've named Gus (my avatar) who is my first pet.

I would love to receive a postcard with a picture of where you live or a place you have enjoyed visiting but ANY postcards are welcome. If you have many to choose from and enjoy hunting for the perfect match (as I do), these things hold a special place in my heart:

*The Muppets
*Classic children's books (Roald Dahl, Beatrix Potter, AA Milne)
*Alfred Hitchcock and other classic movies
*frogs, pigs, elephants, otters, owls, and other creatures
*Sigmund Freud and anything related to psychiatry
*Oscar Wilde
*Libraries
*T.E. Lawrence/Lawrence of Arabia
*Belgian beer
*Redwood trees and forests
*Wood block prints/art
*Sherlock Holmes
*Vincent Van Gogh, Gustav Klimt, impressionist art
*Edward Gorey
*Doctor Who
*interesting architecture including castles, ruins, staircases

If your primary language is not English, please write a few words or a sentence in your language along with a translation.

Christmas and other holiday cards are appreciated if it is that time of year.

If you are a Raveler and would like to share knitting projects you can find me under the same user name, or include yours on the postcard and I will look you up :)
