Hello and Greetings from Germany.

My name is Walter.

Since 1980 I am living at Stuttgart, the capital city of the federal state Baden-Wuerttemberg at the southern part of Germany. A region of wine, but also famous for a great beer-festival for two weeks every autumn, called "Cannstatter Wasen" (Bigger than the "Oktoberfest" at Munich!).
Stuttgart has two universities, opera, two musical-theaters and one beautiful zoo with botanical garden. Maybe you know Stuttgart as the headquarter of "Mercedes" and "Porsche". I drive only a small car.
Travelling all over the world is such a gift. Our favorite location is New York City. In 2012 we went from New York to Hamburg by ship („Queen Mary 2“). Since 40 years, my wife and I visited as tourists many countries and cities in Europe. Also places like South Africa, Namibia, Peru, Cuba, India, Myanmar, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, … and the „EXPO 2010“ at Shanghai and the last "EXPO" at Dubai.
It is a treasure to see other countries, cultures and landscapes.

What is important in my life? My wife, family and friends.
One of my hobbies is collecting postcards, (new) stamps, FDC's or maxicards and coins/banknotes (not Euro)..
On vacation outside of Germany one of my first stop is the local post office to send me a letter or postcard at my home-address.
You can do a favour by sending a postcard showing:

- a cartoon or comic or anime
- a movie star (female) or movie-scene
- pin up's
- funny or crazy things
or some interesting landscapes or buildings of your hometown or country ....
and please put more then only one nice stamp on the postcard. Do not use computer generated stamps..

Every card makes me happy.
But I don’t put every card on my favorites. It is not because I don’t like it – Don’t be disappointed – but there are so many. And there are always very personal reasons to make a card favorite.
