About Me

I am in my 40s.

I live just outside the centre of York - the city walls are in the back garden (yard) of the building I live in.

I am a big fan of the British science fiction television series "Doctor Who". My current avatar is the 11th Doctor, played by Matt Smith.

I like all sorts of films from all over the world, especially science fiction, fantasy, and detective or crime films (such as French polars). I watch a lot of other films too.

I also read a lot of books and comic books.

I play Dungeons and Dragons and some other similar games. I read comic books but I don't collect them.

I am trying to learn to knit and play the guitar.

I adore elephants.

I would love to have a penpal.

About sending me postcards

Any sort of postcard will make me happy! But these are the cards I especially like:

Anything to do with elephants.

Pictures of where you live, especially if you can write about the place too.

Any postcard to do with film or television - any sort of film or show at all that you like, or images of cinemas, studios or filmmakers. (I would particularly love a postcard of Cinecittà in Rome)

Images from children's books and animation.

Art connected to your area - by a local artist, or a painting of a location near you, or simply something in a local gallery

Historical artefacts from your area or treasures in your local museum

Any traditonal festivals, including Christmas :)

But really any postcard will make me smile.
