About Janneke...

I'm Janneke, a 24 year old girl from a small town in the Netherlands. I'm a kitchen assistant in a retirement home. My two passions are music and writing. I play the piano in a band and with a choir, I also play the guitar, bluesharp and saxophone and I love to jam with friends. I write a lot, for example on a weblog.

I've got a lot of other hobbies and interests like walking, I like going out a lot - I'm a big party animal ;) - I also like to make my own clothes. I love reading, my favourite novel ever is Aunt Julia and the Scriptwriter by Mario Vargas Llosa, he's a genius! My favourite author ever is Gabriel García Márquez. I'm also a language freak, I can speak/understand (more or less) English, French, Spanish, German and of course Dutch, and I'm still trying to learn Swedish, Portuguese, Indonesian... And I love Afrikaans, because it's so similar to Dutch, but yet so different!

I live in my own little house in this small town in the east of the Netherlands, it's really my palace!

If you wonder what theefiets is? It's actually my bike! Theefiets means teabike; I covered my bicycle with those paper teabags, as you can see on this photo :)

I don't really have wishes about the card you're gonna send me, I like viewcards but also art cards and I love the 60s... I really don't mind, everything is welcome, but it would be great if you write something about yourself, about what the postcard shows, about your hometown or just about what you did today... Surprise me! You can write in English but if you speak one of the other languages that I understand (see above), it would be nice if you write me in that language!

Oh, and I'll be glad to send you a return postcard, so if you want one, just let me know your address!

PS: I prefer written and stamped postcards :)
