About Terri...
I am a 34-year old mother of two from southern West Virginia, United States. I spend my time reading, beading, and doing many activities with my children--we love to go to the movies, roller skating, and to the many pretty state parks near our home that you can see on some of my sent postcards wall. The children and I have really enjoyed checking our mailbox since I joined Postcrossing. We have completed a collection of postmarked postcards of the 50 states.
I live in a rural community and am interested in the geography and scenery of other states and countries. Since I am quite busy being a mom, there isn't much time to travel. I like to think of the postcards that I receive as windows of possibility for future travels!
My favorite cards are postmarked scenic or historic postcards (no ads/envelopes, please). I love to send and receive mail and am an avid letter writer and greeting and postcard-sender. I have an Australian pen pal with whom I have been corresponding for over 20 years.
I try to put a variety of stamps on the cards going out to my International friends. Perhaps that will make the cards received from me a little nicer for the philatelists among the deltiologists. :)
Feel free to contact me if you are interested in exchanging cards from the Mountain State--swapping is great! I purchase scenic WV cards to share and am also happy to swap coins, magnets etc. Thank you to all of the private-swappers that have included coins, bookmarks, magnets, and other things with the cards that you have sent. These are appreciated and enjoyed very much and I fear I may not have sent a thank you message for some of them due to misplaced email and profile addresses!
My successful international swaps include:
Ireland, Israel, Egypt, Maldives, Puerto Rico, Seychelles, Scotland, Turkey, Costa Rica, Uzbekistan, Canada (which included a lovely Anne of Green Gables stamp!),Switzerland, Russia, Brazil (which brought one of my favorite cards), Malaysia, Mexico, Tasmania, Greece, Russia, Istanbul, Thailand, Romania, Malta, and several others.
