Hi everyone!

After living for nearly 15 years in Edmonton, I recently moved to Leduc - a small town nearby. The bustling city is no longer appealing to me, and I'm looking forward to enjoying nature and quiet days in the country. I love receiving real handwritten mail, and that is why I joined PC. It's amazing how a tiny piece of paper can connect people from such remote parts of the world. If it wasn't for PC, we would have most likely never met.

My other passions include travel, art journaling, languages, reading, astronomy/space program, archaeology, and history. I enjoy a good cup of latte or strong green tea, going to an occasional movie or theatre production, and trying out new local food joints. In addition, my husband and I have three cats (two are rescues) and a dog.

Some random facts about me:

- I love to cook and try new recipes
- I can speak a little Russian, French, and Japanese. If you want, you can write in those as long as it's legible :) I also just started studying Swedish. Hej!
- I spent some time living/working in Sapporo, Japan few years ago. I have such fond memories about that place!
- My favourite animals are tigers, sheep, birds of paradise, otters, whales, and penguins
- I dream to visit every Nordic country on the map
- My favourite shows are Game of Thrones, The Fall, Vikings, etc. I also love Scandinavian crime and British historical dramas.
- I read a lot, especially crime/mystery, science, classics, and literary fiction
- I listen to classic rock and contemporary indie music. I ♥ Led Zeppelin and Lana Del Rey
- I enjoy learning. Currently I'm enrolled into an online course on paleontology.

As for my Postcrossing preferences, any postcard is truly welcome. I only ask two things: please keep cards classy as other people have access to my mail (artistic nudity à la Michelangelo's David is totally okay), and please don’t send view cards from countries outside your own (ie. Eifel tower from Beijing).

Need help choosing? I would like to see YOUR country and YOUR culture. I love:

- Nice single views, traditional costume, food, folk arts, indigenous people, cute and wrinkly elderly, architecture, folklore, history, UNESCO, royalty and state leaders, cultural icons
- Cards from museums, zoos, galleries and other local places of interest
- Events (Olympics, Expos, festivals etc), holidays (Christmas, Halloween, or those unique to your culture)
- Famous art, sculpture, paintings, maps of any kind
- Do you live by the sea? I like ocean, sea animals, lighthouses, small boats

- Anything you want to showcase to a tourist, basically, or check out favourites for ideas

My special interests include traditional dress, polar exploration, space program, teddy bears, dinosaurs, and penguins. By no means you are obligated to contribute to my collection.
