About Dmytro...
Hello!
My name is Dmytro, I live with my wife and little daughter in Kyiv. I used to travel a lot and I try to share my impressions in photos and sometimes stories in my blog. I don't like guided tours but always go by myself and friends and I like to explore things which are very distinct from common life stuff.
You can send me any card you want, but cards from the list could make me really happy:
- natural sights of your land (national parks and so on);
- mountains and mountain sport cards (climbing, hiking, skiing);
- portraits of local people;
- B/W photo of your city streets with common life going on;
- pictures of unique things you think are very common or very important to your culture;
- old city views (especially B/W) and hand-drawn views of your city;
- any hand-drawn pictures;
- art cards;
- art photo cards from guys like Cartier-Bresson, Doisneau, Adams, McCurry and many others;
- vintage cards;
- old photo cards;
- transport cards, especially railways and planes, especially old and vintage;
- bicycle cards;
- local dishes and recipes;
- cartoon cards for my little daughter, but please no boring Disney and pussy cat cards;
- something shiny and funny :-);
- birthday cards in July;
- Christmas cards, New Year cards, Chinese New Year cards and any other local holiday cards;
- and any other pictures you'd like to share with me.
I'm a photographer, so I like nice pictures full of colors or B/W and possibly with some idea behind picture itself. I don't mind if card is advertising or free or handmade or whatever, I just like nice cards and I have in my collections several ad cards I like very much.
Please put nice stamps on your card, write the text by your hand and send it without envelope. I like stamps from my childhood and I have collection of old stamps from USSR times, so it will be very pleasant to get nice ones from you.
Several years ago I was traveling in Asia for a year and I have been sending a lot of postcards to my blog friends. Then I've tried to start postcard sending wave in one of the most popular blogging systems in Russia and Ukraine - and only two of my friends have kept that up, so wave had disappeared just after it had been started. And then I'm here.
The main difference between what I've tried to do and this system I think is that here you never know people you send your postcard to. But through my blog I always send cards to people I know and I always can personalize card itself and message on it. Unfortunately here this is impossible, 'cause I can know about you just from such short introduction in your profile. PostCrossing looks more like smiling to casual people in the street.
Have a nice day today and tomorrow!
