About Signhild...

Hi there!

I'm 28 and hopefully soon graduating as a teacher. I love music, reading, dancing, travelling and spending time with friends and family. I'm also spending some time with different kind of NGO-works and politics.

In general, I like stories. Your story. A historical introduction to the place shown on the card. A "this happened to me yesterday-story". You get the picture..

If you still need some hints of what to tell me, I'm always on a search for good books (and I read almost every kinds of books), so maybe you can tell me which one is your favourite? Maybe there is a book or a writer from your country that I still have not discovered?

I will be happy for every card I resceive, and all kinds of cards are welcome. However, I prefer viewcards - either with an overview of the place/city/area or cards with one or more buildings that are either landmarks or caracteristic for the area. In addition to that, I'm quite found of cards of:
--statues of nathional heroes (if you're sending me such a card, I'd appreciate a small comment of whom this national hero was and why his/her work is recognized as heroic)
--castles
--(people in)national costumes
--religious buildings or monuments (and especially ones that are not christian)
--Unesco WH-places
--other landmarks

If you happen to have a card from the following places, I'd be extra happy. These places all have an agreement of special relations with my hometown (Kristiansand), and it would be very cool to one day have cards from all of them. I'd also be happy for cards from the places in brackets - which have the same type of agreement with the munincipality where I'll start working this fall:
Sweden: Trollhättan (+ Älmhult)
Denmark: Hjørring (+ Allerød)
Finland: Kerava (+Läppträsk)
Iceland: Reykjanæsbær
Germany: Münster
France: Orleans
Poland: Gdynia
England: Letchworth (+ Alnwick District)
Namibia: Walvis Bay
Bangladesh: Rajshahi
Palestinian areas: Hebron
Israel: Ashdod

My father collects stamps, and if you want to help me make him extra happy, you put your card in an envelope. :)

(If I have not registred your card within 30 days, please ask me if it is me or the mailing system that is the problem. I like to believe I always register the same day as the cards are received, but as there's evidence that I've forgotten, I'd be happy to get a kindly reminder. However, there is of course the chance that I have not received it, and, well, I prefer to have the card in front of me when I register it..)
