About Ting-Ya...

Dear all,

My Chinese name is Ting-Ya. Because our teacher asked us to have an English name so "Sophie" is my English name,too.(I would like to know whether this situation happens in your country or not.Recently,few people asked me that is Sophie=Ting Ya?!Besides,some parents give their child Chinese and English name when the baby was born.I would like to know do parents in your country do this,too?)
I'm now a first year student studying in university in Taipei,majoring in Accounting. In my leisure time,I adore exploring some fantastic things. Besides,I also like to read some books or magazines to learn about different cultures. So,please write down something about your country if possible :)
