About Maaike...

Hi, my name is Maaike, I'm a 38-year old female and I live in the North of the Netherlands, near the city of Groningen. I love travelling, visiting countries/places and meeting new people from all over the world. I work at a regional police-office as an analyst for a crimefighting team.

When I'm not working I like to do sports (especially running), read books & magazines, shopping & going out for dinner and to the theatre with friends. I also like to ride on my motorbike (Suzuki Bandit).

Furthermore I love to learn new languages, so that I can communicate with people in their own language.At the moment I'm learning Italian (5th grade) and Scots Gaelic (3d grade).

I 'm always glad to receive your postcard, here are some suggestions for the type of cards that I like:

-baby-animals (!!)
-weather- or natural fenomena (e.g. volcanos)
-colourfull cards (especially yellow, green and blue)
-cartoon-cards (like Asterix, Looney Tunes)
-scenery of your home-town or region (nature)
-cards with words in your language on them

I'd be very glad if you could give me some words in your native language, or tell me about your favourite animal (and why of course).

I'd like to be penpalling with someone from the Gaelic regions (Scotland, Ireland, Wales),Australia, New Zealand, South Africa or other Sub-Saharan African countries, so if you're interested, let me know!
