I am from Namibia, but I have lived elsewhere most of my life: Egypt, England, France, Greece, India, Japan, Netherlands, South Africa, and here. In all these countries I have either studied, or worked in the legal, media or education fields.

My avatar is a picture by Sean Scully. It looks like me. The two white and one black vertical lines are my bowtie, which I usually wear at work; the orange and brown horizontal lines are my rosy face; and the grey and black horizontal lines are the boring background of filing cabinets and catalogues, et c. I like the paintings of Barnett Newman and Mark Rothko, too - most of them also look like me.

I will be happy to receive postcards with paintings, architecture, scientific images and formulas, designs, patterns, tools, mushrooms, herbs, musical instruments, bowties and bowtie shapes, cooking recipes, caricatures, cartoons, masks, flash fiction, or farm animals (especially donkeys and pigs), for example. My favourites can also give you an idea of what I like. Advertisement postcards / 'free' postcards are welcome as well.

Write to me whatever crosses your mind, in any language. You can also draw something.

Please put real stamps on your postcard and have them cancelled nicely in the post office. I prefer postcards to be sent by surface mail, rather than by airmail. Imagining the arduous journey of a postcard by truck, train and ship, across seas and continents, makes me treasure it more, once it has finally reached me!
