About Otoko...

I live in Tucson, Arizona in the Sonoran Desert.

My hobbies include postcard collecting, stamp collecting and mail in general (pen pals, mail art projects, etc.) Growing plants.

I love all animals and am owned by three dogs and a Green Cheek Conure named "Skye".

Here are a few things that I enjoy:

* Black & White cards

* Art including aboriginal and religious art of any religion

* Women in Red, White or Blue
* Men At Work; Men in Art

* Cards showing people reading, writing or both.
*Books,libraries, printing, illuminated manuscripts

* Cards related to Philately - stamp collecting

* Any and all Dog, Bird and Cat cards.

* UK and Commonwealth Postcrossers: I would like Diamond Jubilee cards of Queen Elizabeth II. B&W card will be excellent. I remember her coronation slightly and have always been sympathetic to her. I especially like the cards of her in the younger years and now.

Although I'm not a great fan of multi-view cards they are okay with me if that's all that is available!

Please send in an envelope if it is easy and cheap to do so. Sadly our postal system machines destroy the cards often.

* I prefer cards that are written on and dated and say something about YOU .

What did you read last, for example?

I am reading "Women in White" by Wilkie Collins written in 1860. I'm just beginning Tom Rob Smith's "Child 44" and on my desk I have waiting P.D. James' newest novel,"Death Comes to Pemberley". What should be next? Do you have any suggestions?

A special interest of mine is cards and stamps related to holidays in your country and definitely the Chinese 12-Animal Zodiac.

Finally, here is the link to my new Flickr account where I am slowly unloading all the cards I have received. I am nowhere done but you can see some of the cards I have received here. I hope to be caught up April. Thanks for your patience.

In the Sonora Desert, we've gone from Spring to Summer in a short time. The Mesquite trees are in full bloom lending the city a yellowish tint. The crop of Mesquite beans will be huge this year so both animals and people will have lots to eat.
