I live on Roanoke Island (about 50 miles SE of where the mailbox is on this map).
My husband and I have 3 daughters, one son, and 3 granddaughters. I am currently (2011-2012) the President of Manteo Lions Club. Our family has been involved with The Lost Colony Outdoor Drama since 2001. We raise chickens in our backyard. I enjoy visiting old cemeteries, geocaching, sudoku, reading, folding geometric origami and I've recently began hiking. My fondest wishes are:
to live in the UK one day (Wales in particular)
to visit north of the Arctic Circle and see the midnight sun
to hike at least part of the Appalachian Trail--I'm going on my first AT hike in April 2012.
I was granted a Mailer's Postmark Permit on Sept 27, 2010. I sometimes hand-cancelling my postcards myself!
ANY CARD YOU SEND WILL BE A WELCOME ADDITION TO MY COLLECTION, but I would especially like:
used, vintage cards (sent in an envelope)--I have one from 1921
or cards that show:
cemeteries/graves
mushrooms
red berries and snow together
Please, no ad cards.
Except for used, vintage cards, I prefer my postcards written and stamped, thank you.
To United States PostCrossers--If you happen to be going to the post office to mail your cards anyway, PLEASE ask the clerk to hand cancel. I would love to see real postmarks from the US instead of the ugly ones that are air blown on. THANKS!!
