I was 44 years old when I started postcrossing (putting it this way I don't need to rewrite my profile every year. Hah!) I work in the media.
Motto (taken from a song): "Take it easy baby, take it as it comes."
Another one: "Happiness is a skill that can be learned."
For those who enjoy wish lists (I do! If you don't, stop reading!) here are some things that I like:
-art
-architecture
-photography (especially black and white, present day shots more than vintage, but really good vintage ones are ok, too)
-libraries and portraits of people reading
-Buddha
-hens and roosters (but not baby chicks that much, and no Easter bunnies)
-metro stations, particularly Russian ones (I have: Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Arbatskaya, Mayakovskaya and Tanganskaya-koltsevaya - Moscow)
-night views
-cathedrals
-kukuxumusu
-decorative patterns (fabric designs, wallpapers, painted ceramic tiles, TARTAN, and such)
-plants and flowers (but no flower arrangements, ikebana etc)
-butterflies
-seashells
-donkeys
- horse sculptures, bull sculptures
-streetsigns, instruction signs ("exit", "push", "no parking" etc), neon-lights
-dance
-Beijing opera characters
-kathakali dancers
-classic Japanese theatre
US (specials):
- state flags and state maps. I already have a card with all state flags, but individual ones are still wellcome.
- Obama
- Native American culture
- buffaloes
Canada (specials):
- territorial flags; I have a card with all of them now, but individual ones still welcome

Please, no touristic holiday-on-the-beach scenes. Also: I hate sport events of all kinds, but sports as such are ok. Also, I don't like having the stamp on the picture side of the card.
Politics and religion are ok for me. No need to avoid them!
My favorite music in 2006 was Pat Metheny Trio's Live CD. I have also listened to the Brazilian guitarist Baden Powell quite a bit. In 2007 I rediscovered Frank Zappa, whose music I listened to a lot in my youth. For me, Zappa will live forever! In 2011 I enjoyed watching American Idol; had several favorites, but the biggest was James Durbin. Very talented contestants this year!
