Living in a small town in Iceland has brought nature much closer than it was in my city life in the U.S. The wind here can be horrendous in the winter, but winter temperatures are much warmer than where I lived before. I enjoy hiking, swimming, biking (though biking in the wind is hard!), reading, and walking with my dog in the mountains. What do I miss in the U.S.? My sons and daughters-in-law, my grandkids, and some really close friends. But I wouldn't trade life in Iceland for almost anything else!
