About Michael...
I'm a teacher and writer by profession; husband and father by occupation. As a writer, the mailbox was where good things happened--checks, contracts, cover proofs, first copies. I looked forward to the mail. But years ago my mailbox was taken over by bills, bureaucracy, and advertising. Postcrossing has brought some humanity back to it.
We're especially happy to get postcards from any of the places from which our family's ancestors came:
--Scotland
--Northern Ireland
--Germany
--Poland
But I would be glad to get any tourist-type view card from your part of the world. I enjoy getting a peek at where and how you live.
I do have some special interests. You can make my eyes light up with:
--a castle, fort, or battlefield
--standing stones or ancient ruins
--bridges, dams and other civil engineering works
--any kind of unusual or monumental architecture
--seashores and lakeshores
--aviation, rockets, space
--ships and navies
--trains, railroad yards and depots, rail bridges
--risque pin-ups, bikini beauties, and other provocations (I am very liberal in this area - see my Favorites or my collections)
I am an active tagger for many of these subjects in the Forum.
I know that sometimes wish lists start to sound like rules and orders, so let me repeat: I would be happy to receive any tourist-type view card from your part of the world.
About favorites: I favorite both cards that I received and cards I would like to receive. If you click through you can tell which are which. I do not favorite cards that I've sent.
About stamps: I send the most interesting stamps available to me. I enjoy receiving the same.
Because it involves sending my address to a third party, please do not send Touchnote cards or similar made-to-order cards.
All my other "please don'ts" are covered by Postcrossing's rules.
