About Marlien...

I'm a 19-year-old student from Utrecht, The Netherlands. I study veterinary medicine at the University of Utrecht. I am a member of a student society, and active in all kinds of student initiatives. I am a vegetarian (something which is not always easy when dealing with farmers as a veterinary student), want to travel at some point in my life, have the worst facebook addiction ("it didn't happen if it isn't on facebook!"), I couldn't live in a small town and I'm very goofy at times.

My interests include horses (english riding and carriage driving), sailing, running, reading, writing, all kinds of music, going to concerts (I also go to festivals a lot. Sziget, here I come!), watching tv series (dexter, true blood, 4400, glee, doctor who, star trek), movies (Donnie Darko is my all-time favourite, but I also love costumed drama!) and anime(code geass, .hack and mononoke are my favourites). I'm an enthousistic postcrossing user. I also play games on my PS3 (right now it's Demon's Souls).

I love music by Jeroen Zijlstra, The White Stripes, P!nk, The Last Shadow Puppets, Placebo, The Beatles, Kate Bush, Noah and the Whale, Noisettes, The Raveonettes, The Black Keys, The Doors, Nirvana, Death Cab for Cutie, Faker, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Dead Weather, A Brand, Graffiti6, Mumford and suns, Project Ali, Kasabian, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, James Blake, La Roux, Dido and Slash. Some of my favourite books are The Edible Woman by Margaret Atwood, Special Topics in Calamity Physics by Maria Pessl, Sabriel by Garth Nix, Reunion by Fred Uhlman, The Great Gatsby by F Scott Fitzgerald and The Red Leather Diary by Lily koppel.

I don't neccesarily have to receive postcards from your particular area, just send me one about something you like (it could be your city, but also a dog or a painting or something more abstract!), and tell me why you picked that one. I also like cards with animals, especially cattle (cows, pigs, horses) or otters (my favourite animal!) on them. After receiving a few cards with the beatles on it, I really got hooked. If you can find a card with the Beatles or your favourite band please send it to me because I'd really like it. So for short: I'd like band cards, cattle, or something that's special to you. If you're lost what else to write, tell me the recipe of your favourite dish! I love to cook!

I might take a bit long to send a postcard, I like searching for cards that meet peoples requests.
