About lalwen...
Hello! I'm just a random dreamer girl procrastinating her way through upper secondary school. My hometown is Singapore, but I moved to Finland in August 2008 because I love the Finnish language and it was my dream to study here. Which might sound weird, but there you have it.
Things I like include: Pocky, sunny winter days, long drives through countrysides, Saturday candy, going home earlier because the last lesson was cancelled, the colour red, jumping on the trampoline in the rain, instant photographs, watching people play video games, spontaneous moments, the golden evening sunlight, wolves & hedgehogs & seals, Amélie the movie, House the TV series, the music of Belle and Sebastian / Bob Dylan / Queen...
My favourite Finnish word is mursu (walrus) and I think Yoshi is super cute.
All kinds of cards are welcome. But if you need some ideas, here goes:
- The Lord of the Rings and Tolkien's other works (my absolute favourite)
- strange or quirky non-touristy cards
- views of your country (especially nature scenes)
- anything related to the Arctic
- something cute and squishy :3
- something you drew or made yourself
- something manga/anime-related (I love Studio Ghibli movies)
- a Polaroid photo you took, instead of an actual postcard
- Suomesta: varsinkin muumit, mutta kyllä kaikki käy :)
I'm fine with pretty much anything, however, so don't worry! :) Stamps that you find nice and interesting are always welcome too :D
I love it when people write lots and lots on the card. It's a wonderful feeling to find a card filled to the brim with words. Tell me something :) It could be anything, about yourself, your feelings, your day, your secrets and dreams, random thoughts currently in your head, whatever. I'd like to get to know you, even if it's just for a few fleeting moments.
You can write your message in any language I listed up there. However, please note that besides English, I'm not fluent in any of them -- my knowledge of Russian and Japanese is still veeeeeeeery limited, and I read simplified Chinese characters much better than traditional :D
My surname is written before my given name in my address. I don't usually do private swaps. Thanks for reading all this (if you did).
Happy postcrossing!
