Hello dear stranger!

I'm quite excited about the possibilities given here. I'm 31 and work as a digital media designer in a small town in East Germany. Since I don't have the time (and money) to travel around the world right now, Postcrossing is the perfect way to get in contact with all you nice people out there.

I won't send away tourist postcards, I consider them too mainstream and boring (esp. the ones available here im my region). Apart from that, they're way too expensive for my belief. Photography is my favourite hobby so far, thus I'm going to send postcards made from photos I've taken with my DSLR camera only. Maybe from the area where I live, my cat and mostly other (more or less) meaningful thingies – just wait & see.

I'd really love to receive selfmade picture-postcards from you as well. A photo taken by yourself means much more to me than any commercial postcard. It doesn't have to be the perfect picture, made with professional equipment. Any snapshot will be fine, as long as it's got a meaning for you. But, of course, any other type of card is appreciated too, since I know that not everybody is able and willing to create own cards. But, please, don't leave the card blank, just write down whatever comes into your mind. The rest doesn't matter at all: if sent as simple postcard or in an envelope, with a single or multiple stamps on it — I don't really care. Your personal message is way more important for me.

And at last: don't hesitate asking me for direct swaps. Many users evinced their desire for special card motives from my collection. I'll try to fulfill every wish, as long as you take the time to pick a nice selfmade photo, that you send me as a "compensation".
