i love to travel and i enjoy picking up bits of different languages. my favorite word is the portuguese word "saudade," because it has such a beautifully specific meaning that's essentially untranslatable.

my minor obsessions include: the subway (and other forms of public transit), letterpress paper, photo booths, typewriters, the color red, banksy and other forms of street art/graffiti, all things vintage.
i have a tattoo of a heart on my thumb, and i (almost unconsciously) collect things with heart motifs of all kinds -- graphic valentine's day-style representations, anatomical drawings and religious kitsch.
getting a postcard always makes my day, but i'm more interested in receiving cards that are quirky or artistic rather than ads or generic tourist cards of buildings or statues.
